righty, using the standard mobo sound output, used to work then my mum arsed the pc up again and now it doesn't.
In device manager it was listed in the other devices with a yellow exclamation mark.
I removed it and then re-installed it which moved it to sound devices, still has yellow.
It says it cannot start code 10
what do I do?
also in other devices in yellow are ethernet controller (the drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 2 ) and there is PCI simple coms controller again code 228 drivers not installed.
any ideas folks? |

sounds like ye olde IRQ conflict, or just drivers not installed properly. You got the driver discs or know what the devices are to get them off the net? |

I went into the bios and activated the thingy ma bobber, then re-installed the drivers from the mobo cd works now. |

righty windows media player trouble.
Before my mum fucked it all up again I coudl watch all my erm stuff on wmp. I was quite happy with it.
Tried again, no play with certian files.
I then downloaded th elatest update or whatever it was and it shoudl have worked but no.
Instead whenever I try and open then I get error downloadign codec.
It will play movie clips fine but it won't play video clips those are mpeg layer 3 thingies but I get the sound, just no picture.
I tried gettign an mpeg layer 3 codec but they are not doing fack all.
so what to do?
and no i won't download and used some other shite, already got enough crap on the pc and i just want it back the way it was! |

just downloaded the codedc sfor wmp6.4 and above then the 7. whatever and above and its still not fuckign weporkign, gettign tright fucked off with this. does anyoen know which codec to get? |

got it, download everythign and one will eventually work!
in this case it was 3vix D4 4.5.1 |
