hello
I think i may have a problem with my front wheel bearings
I can hear a droning noise coming from the front of the car
I know it's not the engine or exhaust causing the noise as i have had the car rolling with the engine off
I don,t think it's the driveshafts either as there is no vibration or clicking noises
i've had the car since 1996 and have had the bearings changed before i think in 1998 but can't remeber if it was the same symptons or not
does any know how i can check if it is the bearings or drive shafts?
the car runs fine apart fom this noise its an L reg with 72k on it
ta

Does the noise get louder when you go round corners? |

Loud droning noises which increase with roadspeed, but not engine speed are usually bearing related. |

ive got one knackered on mine at the moment too.
Bearing is about £25, and it needs pressing into the hub, which needs to be done at a workshop. They will charge anything fro £5-£15. |

nah, my road tax and MOT have run out now so its SORN for the time being until i either fix the ABS or wire the bulb up to the ECU light, so ill fix the bearing too. |

wheel may fall off but doubtfull.
if theres play in any of the wheels you have found the problem. the more play more chance of wheel coming off. |
