for the last few weeks whenever turning right in my car (clio valver) there is a horrible screeching sound, yesterday i took the wheel off to find very fine score marks on the disc, then i noticed u can physically 'move' the disc about an 3/4 inch side to side surely this cant be good! any ideas as whats knackered now? lol a few people have said wheel bearing but there is no rumbling sound like it has done on past bearings, and one person said if the wheel bearing had gone the caliper would also have play in it which it does not. any ideas?

its a wheel brearing.

They don't have to automatically make noise either.

This is of course assuming the disc to hub retaining bolts are there or the disc will move about and assumign the scores are deep and match up with being machined away by the hub carrier.
