Whilst driving around a particularly slippery corner one night I spun the front wheels went to change up a gear & all of a sudden mid wheelspin I completely lost all drive . No bang or grinding noise just high revs & no momentum.
I am thinking
1/ Clutch
2/ Gearbox
3/ Driveshafts
When you put the car in any gear from 1 to 5 the speedo wobbles as expected (reads up to 30 - 40 mph ) there is no noise whether you use the clutch or not but when you try reverse it gives a grinding noise without the clutch but no attempt at movement & silent with the clutch
The car is too good & too much fun to scrap so I want to repair it , any suggestions what I should be looking at first?

O.M.G. It went so easy, removed front corner (shocks etc) to create room to move & then 15 mins later we were tightening the inner gator plate. Thanks for the help evry1 , only problem was 2 hours later whilst out testing my toy it decided to spit a sparkplug out of cyl1 completely taking the thread with it . (expletive deleted.expletive deleted)
Oh well here we go again. |

spark plug thread was probably crossthreaded and stripped before you got it, and the person who did it just ragged the plug in as best he could and flogged the car on.
Anyway, get a helicoil in there. Not ideal but itll do the job. |
