ahh the paris bun, the founding blocks of clyde shipyards.
this is what one looks like
its a very dry cake, so you need lots of fluids handy to eat it!
The only concesion to moistuire in the thign is raisins. the white bits are lumps of sugar.
Many a generation was raised on these and may many more continue!
Actually no, they are bloodyhard to get hold of these days! |

Mmmmmm........Went to waitrose this morning and concidering I'm one of the most southern members I was somewhat shocked to find proper scotch pies.
Just like my gran used to make with the reall crispy pastry and spicy meat. It gets better though, they do slection packs! You can buy em with all the best fillings such as beans and mash, macaroni cheese etc
I think I might go back and buy some of the beans and mash topped ones....mmmmmmmm
Also I just looked it up on tinternet and found this site http://www.scotsmeat.com/acatalog/Scottish_Pies.html |

Scotch pies are mining; full of eye lashes and nerve endings, take a bite turn it on its side and you could fill a sump with all the grease that dribbles out... |
