Just tightening up my aux belt as it's started to slip when turning the wheel stationary.
I slackened off the tensioner to check the alternator, ps pump and water pump. But now when i try to re-tension the pully on the 22mm nut it just seems to slip and doesnt tighten.
Any ideas?????
Cheers! |

Sorted now cheers mate.
The 22mm bolt on the tensioner has no thread, it's cog wheel on the back of the tensioner that moves up and down on a rack of teeth.
Found that a couple of these teeth had snapped off at the end so i wasn't able to start winding it along.
Had to remove the alternator top bolt to give me enough slack so i could put the tensioner on half way where the remaining teeth were.
Another simple job turned nightmare. |
