Got a Megane Coupe and the plip has stopped working. I know the batteries in the key itself are fine, the AA chap confirmed that for me. I've replaced the IR reciever in the roof with a new item. At the moment I can only start the car using the code and it's a right pain in the arse!
Anyway according to Chris's guide:
Quote: |
When you put the final digit in the light goes out comes back on and back off again (i.e. the 30 second interval) press and hold the central locking button again and the doors should lock and unlock, remove the key and plip away at the sensor, in about 3 tries the doors should lock and unlock again.
The key should now be re-programmed and work as it should. |
Well I enter the code, then the red light comes on solid to say the car will start. I press and hold the central locking button and nothing happens. It doesn't lock and unlock the keys. If I take the key out the ignition and plip away bugger all happens
Any ideas?
P.S - do I have to wait for the red light to turn off before I press and hold the button and the doors should lock/unlock again? |

Didn't work
Tried it several times, not a sausage. I guess it's time to get the lube out and pay a visit to a main stealer |

it might just need soldered! I have done a few.
check using a digi/phone camera.
You shoudl see the sensor light up blue for a second. If not or it only works once every 10 tries then chances are a dob of solder will sor tit |
