Right i've been away from here for a while now mainly due to problems witht the car and trying to get it sorted. after last post i found that it wasn't my Gasket but a cracked block that was causing Problems. anyway sourced new engine and about to order bits ready for it being fitted next week. the point of this is, are there 2 tensioners on the R19 16v engine, as GSF and Euro car parts list upper and lower. i have just gone to Renault and they want £99.73 +VAT for the tensioner and £43.46 for belt a little too much me thinks!

Get that from renault, thats a new camblet, new tensioner and new idler roller. Which is in stupid people at euro/gsf speak the upper and lower tensioners.
if you go down its not listed as a 19 part believe it or not, tell them its for a clio 16V/williams or a megane coupe/cabriolet 2litre 16V.
And yes its about twice as expensive to get the bits seperately. If you think thats good then a synchros ring is 32 quid, but for all 5 synchro rings and new circlips the kits only 28 quid! |

theres another 7 in front of the 1st 7 and no problem.
Should maybe mention it in a tech articl as peopel end up gettign ripped off, happened to me with the energy, 70quid I paid for a new tensioner for that when 50 would have bought both. |
