You can probably tell I'm busy with the car at the moment from the posts, here's one more riddle...

Trying to change lambda sensor. have the old one out, and it has just 1 wire (i presume therefore no heating as haynes say it should have). I've been to my local factors, then renault, and all part numbers / cross refs lead to a 3 pin sensor. No mention of a 1 wire / 2 pin socket sensor anywhere, apart from on a 2.2l Espace! I'm sure the loom is standard, but what do I do for a sensor seeing as mine is out and apparently no-one can sort one?

EDIT: It's an M-plate (95) 1.4i Clio.

on an M plate with a single wire lambda? Must have found a loom in a box and used it on your car!

Anyway a 3 wire sensor will do the job. Get a universal one and just stick a spade onto the black signal wire.

yeah a bit wierd that Confused

OK will get universal sensor.

Am trying to remove the wire from the old connector to reuse in the new sensor. Its a female plug with a male terminal inside. I've unhinged the top of the connector and am trying to wrestle the terminal out but it wont budge. Cant see any catches but do you have any idea how to do this?

my renault wasnt idleing right kept going as if it was going to cut out then rev till about 1500 rpm then just keep doing that,i took the lambda out and it runs fine.that was a couple of months ago,do you actually need the lambda?

yes you need the lambda.

If its not there the ECU estimates what going on. You lose fuel economy and low throttle response that way though.
