R19 left rear brake pipe from Renault?

Hi.

Does anyone know if Renault sells left rear brake pipes with the union nuts on them for R19? The old union nut just doesn't come off from the brake cylinder which I have to replace because it leaks and is partially stuck.

And what might be the price or the best way to buy them so that they don't overcharge me like they might with the cam belt stuff...

I can't got to Halfords and similar places here in Finland don't have the parts.

nowhere sells ready made metal brake pipes.

What you want to do is buy yourself a brake pipe flaring kit like this http://www.carparts-direct.co.uk/BRAKE%20PIPE%20MACHINE.html I use it more than you would think and its a good bit of kit.

If you remove the old pipe and take it down to a motor factors they should make you one up there and then cheaply enough.

Um, yes they do, at least for ford, opel (vauxhall), saab, vw and volvo but unfortunately not to renault. Shocked

The place (Biltema) doesn't have their catalog in the web anymore. There was a sample pic of a ready brake pipe and of a full, ready to install, brake pipe set. They sell plain 3/16" brake pipe and union nuts too thou.

Is the union nut btw a 10Mx1,0? I was too much of an idiot to measure from the other side from which I managed to change the cylinder.

Thanks. I'll probably measure the length of the pipe, go to a garage with that and a couple of union nuts and ask them to finish the pipe and then install it myself.

Strange because over here you can't get any brake lines at any dealer unless you supply the old pipe for them to make up and then they usually farm it out to someone else.

Dunno the exact size of the thread but its metric and mine are in the shed which I can't get to because of a busted ankle.

Then the nuts should have M10x1.0 threads. Sorry about the ankle.

The place that sells those to some cars is, at least I think it is, a swedish firm. The name Biltema would be 'cartheme' if translated word to word. The place sells car parts, tools, car audio, bicycles, golf balls, computer speakers, vacuum cleaners, anchors and other really "car-related" stuff. Mad

As for my ankle, its an old recurring injury, the ligaments and tendons like to snap and make my foot not really work at all for a few weeks.

Any foot surgeons on here, I would appreciate the input!

I couldn't get the brake pipe to brake hose nut off so I eventually cut the pipe, slipped a new union nut onto it and made a new flare. That sucked big time because the damn brake fluid kept dribbing. Got it done anyway and all works now.

I just cannot get around why Renault uses union nuts with some other pitch of thread than 1.0? I had to go to Renault distributor to get one. And the first place (where they have a massive garage) they didn't even have one!!!
