when i put key into possition 2 the rev counter will rev till 3000rpm then go back down .........without engine on 
why is this? |

I would imagine so.
the coils held onto the ignition module by 2 T 20 screws. remove them and pop the coil off, check for corrosion on the wiper contacts. if your lucky cleaning them will sort it. |
