How many alarms has a 16v got? Wen to move the thing earlier, the dodgy crimped in alarm went off. Unplugged that and then the horn started sounding and the indicators started flashing! And to top that the second one went off when the engine was running and the car moving!
Ahhh! |

its a random thing, the alarm on GYP only started working when i changed the passenger door over, i closed the door, locked it on the plip and noticed for the first time since owning it, the indicators flashed and the standard renault alarm armed it self.
its only done it once since then lol
the chammys alarm is a cat 1 jobbie which i have had to disconnect the siren on, as when the battery gets to a certain state of discharge, it sets the alarm off (yes i could take off the battery but i haven't)
It matters not that this alarm is not fully functional at the mo spesh as the chammy spends most of its time fenced into the front garden until it gets its new engine.
one other thing thou Huw, some of the ECUs came with a built in alarm and immobiliser, pain in the arse those ones are and thankfully was only on one revision of the ECU. |

my blue chammies actually worked but the siren was dodgy, indicators flashed on it as well which is a ph1 rarity.
Anyway the usual dodgy renault dealer fitment meant I ripped it out.
I would pull it out before it goes up in flames tbh.
The ones with it into the ECU are the most reliable as they were fitted at the factory, the rest were fitted at the supplying dealers as was the key in the glovebox immob. |

1 in the glovebox is for the immob.
1 by the battery is for the alarm.
neither are standard, they were dealer fit options. |
