can any1 shead any light on what a TDC sensor is plz and what effects if has if not working |

Mounted on top of the gearbox and reads the teeth on the flywheel. If it doesn't work the engine doesn't run.
What problems are you experiencing? I'm sure we can help. |

if its not working completly the engine wont run.
It detects what angle the crank is, and tells the ECU when to fire the injectors and spark.
if you have a rev counter, it wont be reading when its turning over. |

ok then i just got me a megane F7R and it does no idle its having a service and im going to look at/ clean ICV and TB, clean,replace earths. i just was reading on net bout TDC... any sugestions on idle plz. its got 63k on clock if that makes a diff |

i'd say clean the TB, and ICV then see what happens |

i just cleaned the ICV and TB and now it idles at 1100, but i have noticed i have a little pipe with half a little barrel connector just hanging there any1 know what this could be i also have a nipple on the airbox whats not connected i already have breather on....help |

cant do pics but i will try explain
infront of the breather theres like a valve thing with a metal tube going in the bottom and at the top there are a few lil pipes one of them runs across angine bay and connects near os haed light and theres another about 3inch long with a half of barrel type connector just hanning and i can not see anything to connect to it, its only small the id of pipe is bout 2mm.
on the air box there is 2 nippels one of wich has the breather pipe on and theres just 1 with nothing to connect its the same size of the breather nipple.... |

that sounds like a vacuum pipe, that would cause the revs to go up! |

ive identified the vac pipe its the filter unit does this require a sponge type filter as i only have a case? |
