never been in any....

well actually one, but i was young and not driving....my mum was learning to drive Rolling Eyes she never got the hang of it...and accelerating into a parking space instead of braking and writing off a doctor's car kinda put an end ot the lessons

My worst was the astra, 95 1.4 power house. Driving down the road (for those that were over it was down by the garage and around the righthander at the bridge) being a bit of a twat in the wet. entered the cornr and the back end took off. GAve it opposite lock but it slid into the kerb backwards and sideways at about 40. I jumped out and only seen damage to the pass. side sill and i was bloody happy. Then i noticed the 2 whells were folded in under the car, yey. When it hit the kerb the lump jumped out of its mounts and thru the rad. While trying to get it off the road the headgasket was promptly fucked. It needs a rear axle, front subframe, wisbone, wheels, rad, headgasket but it was twisted in a knot. Gaps around the boot were hilarious on one side lol

That was the monday...

On the wednesday i needed to bring the then gf into work to get paid iirc. I had been taken off the road by my father for the astra incident above but him being a kindhearted bloke he let me borrow his laguna. I drove her there but on the way back (still raining) i came up behind a 93ish corsa. We were driving along doing 50ish i suppose when i family of ducks ran out in front of him. he managed to stop dead on but when i hit the brakes it locked up. I tried to get it to slow down and as i was i was looking were i could steer to miss the corsa. to the left was somones lawn with big decorative rocks. I thought they truely fuck the car so they were ruled out. in the middle was of course the corsa, bad idea. to the right was the other side of the road, normally a fine place to swerve to says i, but what was coming the other way? a fucking vintage rolls royce. By this time i was nestled snuggly in the back of the corsa. I got that lovely BUMP THISH you get when you burst the rad in a crash. I got out and the chap was very undersatnding. Looking at the corsa there was a small scratch on the bumper. He said not to worry about it as i was quite obviously worse off. I turned around and was greeted by the laguna with it 2 broken headlights, fucked bumper, crumpled bonnet, grille, whole front panel in fact. I forget how i got it home but i hadn't told the father. When i went to tell him all i could do was laugh cos 2 cars in 3 days is quite funny...he wasn't so angry this time. He let me back out on the road but this time in a 86 sierra ghia which was promply wrote off while parked on the street.

All off that happened while i was waiting to get my 19 back from te body shop after my mate stuffed it, twock!

Not really a crash but still scary, whilst driving to blackpool in my mates rs2000 4x4, i noticed some whispy smoke coming from behind the dash followed by an orange glow. decided to pull over, as you do, to check it out and realised the haedunit had set alight in the dash. we both ran away from the car to get away and call the firemen. looking back on the car after the call just in time to see smoke pouring out of the sunroof and all the windows smoked out. Back window then popped and the whole car went up in a sh*t load of flames. will try and get some pics posted but as you can imagine there wasn't much left!

I've only had two 'offs'.

First one was in 2002 on the M1, traffic had slowed down to a virtual halt, I stepped on the brakes, but there was very little effort from the pedal, ended up slamming the 19 into the back of a 406..... no damage to the Pug but it's towbar made a nice crater in my front bumper.

Car went into a garage a few days later and was diagnosed with a faulty master cylinder.....

Second 'off' I was on my own driving between two villages on a road I've navigated thousands of times. Basically the road ascends up a hill into woodland and at the brow there's a mild right corner. Sadly I failed to anticipate the mud/water at the brow and the back end lost grip, slid out and sent me sideways into the bushes at the side of the road, a metres clearance meant the 19 survived as opposed to being wrapped round a very tall Oak tree.....
