449 Clio 16v M plate + leather

This car is going to the auction tomorrow but i thought i'd post it on here to see if any of you guys would be interested.

Basically its a 449 blue 94 Phase 2 Clio 16v with 93k on it. It is completely standard in every way with a full factory fitted dark grey leather interior which is in very good condition.

I bought it around a year ago and its been my daily car for this time with hardly any problems at all. When i got it, it was probably as close to mint as a 11yr old car could be and had recently had a rull renault service.
The only problems were play in the steering column lower joint, which i had welded, and a leak from the rocker cover gasket which i've never been arsed to fix.

However, a couple of months ago i hit a vein of bad luck. First it was broken in to- thieving bastards pulled the lock out the door, still couldn't get in, so then smashed the window. Window is repaired, lock is not.
Then, some other dick head decided to pour paint stripper over it so now it needs the bonnet, roof and top of one door frame repainting. The roof has heavy surface rust on it if you know what i mean but the paint on the bonnet and door is just heavily marked so there is no rust. There is no other rust on the car what so ever. Also someone nicked 2 Phase 2 centre caps off it.

Just before christmas the diff bearings went so i had a replacement gearbox and new clutch fitted and i replaced the dogbone mount a few weeks ago with a genuine Renault one (although it still has quite a lot of engine movement). The car was also MOT'd in December which it passed first time. Tax is up at the end of the month. Oh and the drivers side electric window switch is on the way out.

Aside from that the car is fantastic. It pulls like a train and still feels really tight. The leather is in really good order and all guages and electrics work fine and the electric sunroof doesn't leak. I have a replacement door for it (needs spraying) and a brand new n/s driveshaft (thought i needed one but was the gearbox)

by auction do you mean BCA etc or ebay?

If a normal car auction if you get 200 quid I'll be impressed.

Normal car auction. I'm confident i'll get more than Â£200 but like i said make me an offer. Its going tomorrow one way or an other. The leather's worth more than Â£200- its almost perfect. I know i'd make far more by breaking it but just don't have the time.

well if it helps, i go to car auctions every week, and ive seen a fully roadworthy xr2i with no rust and a mint interior go for Â£50.

i paid 80 for a mint ax gt a few years back and that was when people wanted them

Pull the interior out, get your Â£300 then put the shell on ebay spares or repairs.

OK, went down the auction yesterday and it's closed down so i still have the car for the time being.

I'd be more than willing to sell the leather interior on its own but i need a decent 16v interior to replace it with. Make me an offer!

I don't want to sell the car for Â£250, it really is worth more than that in my opinion as its got no rust anywhere aside from the bit on the roof, just had the gearbox and clutch changed and is a late model with a high spec in the best colour! It just needs someone whose a bit handy with a spray gun. Its got for sale signs in it at the mo and its getting plenty of interest.

btw, forgot to mention earlier, the brother of the girl i bought it off was a renault mechanic and it had a full renault service just before i bought it. (Just realised i did mention it earlier)

You will be surprised the amoutn of worj that could be needed on that roof... paints cheap, prep isnt. Offers still open! PM me if your signs dont do the job and you get fed up of the time wasters Smile
