You know what they say about men who constantly brag about size having nothing in reality don't ya Wink

TBH I'm getting all excited now. Will all be here for the weekend with the exception of the management but I'm unsure about bolting it all on just yet as I can't get roller time until April and I don't fancy running it about on a startup map.

lol, i'm a small chinaman...........take what you will from that.

Why dont you buy or make a set of det cans, buy a wideband AFR setup and link the output to your ECU, or even better one with built in EGT.

Then you cna drive around and map your engine on a +/- basis and tweek the ignition. You'll probably get the map 90% done on the road.

If the ECU can, make a lambda reference table and onfigure the lambda sensor scale so that it'll run closed loop to the fueling you set. Or if it can, automap.

From what i've seen of the current version of Emeralds software it has EGT and I will be buying a wide band lamda aswell as I think the management will need it. Doesn't the Megane Coupe use a wide band as standard though?

Two wires short then. Is £140 a good price for a wide band Bosch lamda?

ive tried running my emerald closed loop....wouldnt idle. my cams require more fuelling at idle to make it run, and since there is no "above load site" function...cant really use it closed loop. however ben is right, you can do most of on the road. i managed mine on my own...

if it is knock limited it should be reasonably audiable...but det cans are alwasy good

wideband sensors are only about £40 new.

Stan, that is really surprising!
Must be some way round it, a 'get to know' sort of feature in the software. Cant you set the targer afr for closed loop operation, so it doesnt matter how much fuel you need?

A friend of mine has just finished his wideband setups in a dialpod with egt at the same time...fantastic tuning tool.

no mate. only targets lamda=1...not adjustable.

only alteration you can make as to when it operates is "below load site...#"

lol, no worries.

All i ever hear from others is what a pain the emerald is.

I wont even repeat what another tuner (a proper one, not one of these monkey ones) said about dave walker.....had me in stitches though.

He is ok...but i do seriously question his technical ability/knowledge after my last visit. he can map...(then again who cant)...but thats it. the reason why my car was booked in there was for ease more than anything else....alternatives are now cropping up.

i honestly dont know why he has such a solid reputation

Same with Vizard, you read some of hius stuff and its a case of well, no shit sherlock. Anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that!

fpmsl!

ccc was good, I liked it when they brought in the race cars, I particularly liked the aston nimrod and the vette c5 le mans winner ones.
