I've heard good things about their brake pads but bad things about their clutches.
Is what I've heard correct? |

I much prefer stock pads, I trust them longer than fancy ones.
EBC, black diamond and so on have all given me nothing but bad experiences. |

I'll agree with you there Chris,
The 12groove Black Diamond discs on my 21t have worn really quickly and i still get brake fade, so when i renew my front disc's i'll be going back to standard, and standard pads aswell i think,
But at least i gave them a go so now i know |

Just slapped some green EBC's all round.
Just running them in.
Shagged my Renault supplied, comming down a mountain. (smoke)
Rear disks a bit thin but still true.
Good pedal feel for the mo; will let them bed and give um a trash. |

Broke them in slowly, 200K.
Then took them up my test mountain.
First run, fade from the top down. Smelling a lot of resin - not burning.
Let them cool down.
Second run, after driving around the valleys to get back up the coll.
Good at the top to around half way down, fade but no smoke. They just let you know they have had enough.
Good bite when warm. On damp roads they tend to warm a bit and start to lock so you have to lift off a bit.
Good feel, you know when they start to lock.
Its cold. tyres are cold and with 2.2 Bar at 10°c as a start point the heat gets into the wheel and tyre as well.
Think that they are a bit better than standard. Also so far no brake dust.
They may get better with time. |

Having heard the brake screech and smell of rally cars at the stop point of the Vence rally. No brake system that you can drive with on a day to day basis is going to survive the decent.
Anyway the green colour goes with the air filter. But as it is in the original air box, nobody gets to see it anyway.
Need to get a lot of weight out of the car. That’s the answer.
Throw out the golf clubs? Make the wife happy. Tools?
Go find some 16S rear badges.
Hell, got a new cell phone with Steppen Wolf (get you motor running) as a ring tone.
Enjoy driving, stay cool.
Cheers |

The pads are working realy well now.
Deffo less dust on the wheels.
They don't like rust on the disks though. Car was parked for 6 weeks and it took a week of driving to get the rust out.
Need to brake fairly hard all the time. Not slow down with your foot lightly on the pedal, run up and hit it. Keeps them fit. Maybe slots in the disk will help to keep them clean.
No to sure how long the disks will last, but I think its not to bad. |
