Here in holland i've noticed that a lot of 16V's have problems with the ABS system. specially the ph.1 models. As soon as the ABS light shows you have a view seconds to slow down because otherwise you lose your brakingpower completly Sounds any familiar? |

yes.
Common problem, the early bendix system is crap basically.
Its not liek the later Bosch setup which has a proper fail safe system, it at least reverts to normal braking support.
The bendix set up is like you say dangerous as a few presses and the brakes are gone.
The best mod for the Bendix system is removing it, chucking it in the bin and fitting normal servo set up. |

Ok then. We do know the bendix system sucks. It's almost the daily talk on our forum. Even as the waterproblems with the sparkplugs and the wiring etc. etc. I guess we just love them because it's looks an driving capabilities. It's a excellent engine for it's time but they had to work it out a bit more |

they are good looking cars toa certain group of people, others think they look old and crap.
The engine is ok, but it could have been so much better very easily.
The head designer very clearly thought bigger is better but he done it in the wrong places! |
