Ah right, i've not driven it in the dark yet, that would be why.
I live in wales, Aberystwyth to be exact, do 90% of car repairs me self unless I just can't be arsed. |

You'll never have the knowlage if you don't muck in and do something. Give it a go. Buy the car, buy a second hand gearbox (if you know this to be the problem) and try it - we'll be here to off a hand, Huw had problems getting his box off but Chris H was there to offer advice and get the job done.
What have you got to loose? If you give up you can always get a garage to finish it off or just scrap it for bits. |

i will have a look at the car tomorrow anyway, will let you know what it is like . and if its the right car i might consider to do what you are saying as i want a valver too much and want to keep it for years ,thats why i am a bit fussy about finding the right car (right color, right condition etc)

I wouldn't pay over £500 for a valver, unless it was mint and had a brand new gearbox / clutch / headgasket etc and under 70k and probably a bloody good warrenty too! lol.
They go wrong. Often. Simple as. A £1500 one isn't going to go wrong any less then a £500 one is - appart from a cheap one your going to have spare cash to fix it. |
