I know different metals can be a pain in the arse to weld and that mild steel sheet is the easiest to use but can my welder doo it or not is the question?

yes u can use mig, and u can use standard mild stell wire and gas |

I meant to add that mine was done using mild steel wire which was fine for months but then rusted |

you'll have to clean the galv off the area to be welded and then re-address corrosion in that area. |

you shouldnt really weld galv sheets as cyanide deposits are left behind. you can weld them as long as you grind off the area to be welded and at least 3-4 cm of surrounding area. as for stainless, you can use a mig with mild steel wire although you can buy a small reel of stainless wire from places like machine mart etc. |

never weld galvenised steel the chemicals that are given off when welding are poisoness. with a mig you can weld ally and stainless as Ash says. you just need to make sure you have the correct gas and wire for the job |
