As you all know Alan bought Marks (chamadyelooks) ph2 chammy 16v. Thats 2 ph2 chammys alan has bought from guys called Mark.
Anyway as always I have the job of sorting it.
First thing was to sort the idle out, this was around 2 grand on a hot idle
[img:378:567:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20idle%2001.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
someone has been fiddling
So I popped the plastic out and set it properly
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20idle%2002.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
It now hot idles around 950 rpm as it should.
Then inside to sort out the dodgy electrics, fuses were the wrong ratign and some were missing, so i sorted those out and even gave him spare fuses
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20fusebox.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
then under the bonnet again to sort out the iffy wiring
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20wiring%2001.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20wiring%2002.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
also removed the redundant siren
[img:378:567:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20wiring%2003.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20wiring%2004.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
then sorted the fuel lines
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20fuel%20lines%2001.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20fuel%20lines%2002.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
then the arch liner was in the boot so fitted that
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20arch%20liner%2001.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%20arch%20liner%2002.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
then took the shopping lists off the doors
[img:378:567:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20list%2001.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
nearly there, note random order
[img:378:567:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20list%2002.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
ta da!
[img:378:567:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20list%2003.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
this pic shows the refitted heatshields and pre list removal, note sexy 14's
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%2001.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%2002.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
[img:567:378:a4e8009ea5]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20cham%2003.jpg[/img:a4e8009ea5]
I also sealed the exhuast and blah blah |

MOT passed.
It just needs the shopping list off the rear, the aerial fitted, washed, alloys fitted and a few wee tweaks here and there |

Due to Marks dodgy battery terminals the ring terminal fell off to the dash (thus the whole car) so killing it, the main starter feed and engine loom feed was bar wire shoved into the dodgy battery terminal.
So it was my task to terminate these properly.
[img:567:378:d12603ffb6]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20batt%20connections%2001.jpg[/img:d12603ffb6]
[img:567:378:d12603ffb6]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20batt%20connections%2002.jpg[/img:d12603ffb6]
[img:567:378:d12603ffb6]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20batt%20connections%2003.jpg[/img:d12603ffb6]
I also fitted a braided earth from the battery negative to the engine directly.
Mark also changhed the fuel pump in his usual manner which is cutting the floor, note loose clip
[img:567:378:d12603ffb6]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20boot%20floor%2001.jpg[/img:d12603ffb6]
tightened clip, I also sliced my hand on the metal
[img:567:378:d12603ffb6]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20boot%20floor%2002.jpg[/img:d12603ffb6]
I then fitted the radio cage and fitted it better
before
[img:567:378:d12603ffb6]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20radio%2001.jpg[/img:d12603ffb6]
no cage
[img:567:378:d12603ffb6]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20radio%2002.jpg[/img:d12603ffb6]
loads better!
[img:567:378:d12603ffb6]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20radio%2003.jpg[/img:d12603ffb6]
cover fits on
[img:567:378:d12603ffb6]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/al%20radio%2004.jpg[/img:d12603ffb6]
it won't go all the way in due to the mass of wires and the dash design buts its a lot better than before.
I also changed the cig lighter bulb, the clock light bulb, secured the drivers door speaker on properly and so on. |

Well alans car was droppe doff on a recovery truck last night, its been dead for a few months now. Suspected engine by the rac.
So I fix it in abotu 20 mins this mornign when I look at it, alan had the clutch changed and whoever done it damaged the CAS which in turn damaged the ignition module.
So swapped the CAS and module and it fired up.
I then sorted his sunroof as it had the usual jamming problem.
Rear seats out and the plastic panels popped into the boot
[img:567:378:823458a08f]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/alan%20cham%20sunr%2001.jpg[/img:823458a08f]
panels off but headlining still in
[img:567:378:823458a08f]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/alan%20cham%20sunr%2002.jpg[/img:823458a08f]
mechanism dropped and the card removed
[img:567:378:823458a08f]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/alan%20cham%20sunr%2003.jpg[/img:823458a08f]
the card out
[img:567:378:823458a08f]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/alan%20cham%20sunr%2004.jpg[/img:823458a08f]
the headlining
[img:567:378:823458a08f]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/alan%20cham%20sunr%2005.jpg[/img:823458a08f]
anyway all sorted now, had to charge his battery, pump up the tyres and I also swapped his central locking receiver unit and aerial. |
