Pulled out if a junction the other day and as i changed from 1st to sencond i lost drive.. the engine still runs, the clutch has resistence (cable not snapped) and you can engage gears. if you put it in gear the speedo goes up if you rev it, but no drive. any ideas? please
if this is going to be a costly repair im selling the car for parts as ive already spent far move than the car will ever be worth. we shall c

not really, can be done in an hour or so from the passenger wheel arch
need a new clip and washer which are 12 quid from renault |

Dont worry , mine did same & after speaking to chris h new ciclip fitted within 1hr / 1-1/2hr & back on the road . check the knowledge base .
its in there with pics. |

i popped mine the first time giving it a bootful out of a junction . . i dont tend to boot it that hard in 1st any more lol |

Yes - in the sense that you lose all of them.
If you mean lose just 1st and 5th, then no. |

i know this may be a silly question but the surclip problem doesn't affect the 400 series volvos as much (if at all?) as the 19/clios - is the gearbox design different on the volvo?
