Driving down the m4 late afternoon today, traffic starts to back up a bit and theres a bit of jam starting to form, guy in front starts to flash his hazards at me behind to make sure that i see that he is braking & the volume of traffic is slowing down. Now am i being obtuse here, or is hazards only really reserved for moments like when a crash happens in front of you or a tyre blows or you get major mechanical damage whilst in the fast lane of the motorway? Coz this idiot decided to flash his hazards my initial reaction is to brake like fuck inticipating a messy accident happening, surely this causes more build up behind me whilst everyone else compensates for the harsh braking.
Also does anyone else think that the undertaking law should be scrapped? the amount of idiots who dont understand that there is 3 lanes on a motorway not 2 is shocking. |

Undertaking is illegal?! Only joking, if somones hogging the middle or outside lane, im likely to sit behind them for a while, give em chance to move over then undertake them. |

The Lag II's, pug 607'd and no doubt countless others will flash the hazards lights automatically if you hit the brakes hardish at motorway speeds |

undertaking is not illegal anymore, only on a bend.
But a flash of the hazards is a good idea if theres a bang or somethign ahead.
Most use mine get is thanking people that flash me in, even then I usually wave or flick the indicators both ways. |

Yes, i would pull them over and shake there hands. id even take them for a pint, if they where nice id take them for a meal.
Nah Bollocks to that i just stick two fingers up to say thanks
I flash my hazards to worn people behind as ive been involved in loads of near misses where the people in front travelling at excess speed just decide to out their brakes on, no warning, just 100 - 0 as fast as possible.
Flammin moron's. I used to travel in excess of 400miles a day so I consider my self very lucky!!
Jonny when it comes to second lane drivers this is what i do:
THE 10 STEP GUIDE TO PISSING OFF SECOND LANE DRIVERS.
1. spot them
2. close up on them.
3. Tail them.
4. wait for the nervous eyes to appear in their rear view mirror looking at you.
5. accelerate.
6 Right at the last moment pull out into the 3rd lane.
7. overtake them, making sure to show your nastiest angriest face to the driver.
8. once clear CUT the bugger up pulling over very fast into the second lane.
9. Indicate and pull very delicately over to the first lane.
10. continue your journey
HEALTH WARNING: ONLY TO BE PERFORMED ON QUIET SECTIONS OF MOTORWAYS AS YOU DON'T WANT TO BE THE EXCUSE OTHER DRIVERS NEED TO FLASH THERE HAZARD LIGHTS!! |

Nope.
You have to pull a face, you could show them your finger but if they where born before 1850, like most 2nd lane drivers, then they will probably take that as an hello sign!
Sorry |

I used to use the Hazzards in the R19's to say thanks cos it was easy to just flash them once, feckin cordy swtich is on top of the steering column!
But yeah, if I'm hitting the brakes harder then usual on the motorway I stick them on if theres stuff tanking up behind just to make sure.
No one likes being done up the arse. Do they Chet? |
