Ok, had a slow leak for a while now (about 1L every 1k) and I know it's not normal consumption as it never used to burn any and the underside is cankered in oil.
So, where can it leak from? It's deffo engine oil. I cleaned it all up last night so I could monitor it properly, but the oil was coated all over the underside of the sump, 'box, selector, subframe.
I did think originally that it could be HG failing a little but couldn't see any signs when I took the airbox and battery out to get a better look from above.
So where else could it be? Sump gasket? Gearbox etc is clean on the top side. |

When mine was leaking from the underside it was coming from the sump. The sump had rusted a bit and 3 pinhole leaks were appearing.
Clean it up as much as you can can take a look with the engine running. Also check for bubbles on the sump pan it's self - Cost me £40 to weld it up. |

It's such a slow leak it doesn't even leave any drips on the tarmac. Not sure it's the sump. That is cracked but I JB welded it up and it seemed ok when I cleaned it last night.
Hoping it's nothing to difficult to do myself. |
