well in between the rain stroms we seem to be having down here, i managed to take of the passanger side strut, it seems the top bearing is fooked, but it looks like someone else has tried to do this job as the allan key part has been rounded off so i cant think of a way to get the thing off now, also poped the track rod end out ready for taking off the rack.

Anyone know Which is the bast way to drain the PAS fluid Question

I'm not running 4 cars Wink

Haynes reckons you should clamp both the pas fluid lines before removing them, so I presume afterwards you could point them towards a suitable container.

Needs a new gearbox and rack, both of which i've got, just need to get round to fitting. That and the fact i've now got the Cordy. Not sure what i'm going to do to be honest, might fix her up and keep.

i found i did not have to drain mine, it lost a little when i removed the main feeds to the rack but not a whole lot, just have a tray of some sort under the car to catch the fluid when it comes out, then i plugged the main feed pipes with some old cloth until i was ready to connect them back up to the new rack.

today the weather was good so i did some work on the car, i started taking off the rack, i have drained and unbolted everything apart from the ones in the picture, i can't seem to find any spanners to fit because of the tight space, i have the right size but the bolts are too close together to get the end of the spanner in, anyone else had this problem

what u could do, is give yourself more space, on the bottom of the rack is another pipe (gearbox side of the rack) that goes to the main bunch of pipes in your pic, u can remove this then it should give u enough space to get onto the one circled in your pic.

thats also part of the problem, that nut is very very tight and since you can only use open end spanners on them it will not budge, i dont wont to round te thing off more than what it is now, im really stuck now Crying or Very sad
