thats doors dead, you will never straighten it and get iot to seal right. At the least you need a new skin and new bits welded into the frame. Get a whatever colour non 16V door, should cost you a tenner. That will keep the car watertight until you find the correct door.

That arch needs chopped out and welded.

The chamades always have condensation in the top of the bootlid. The bottom tends to get wet due to the sunroof, the seal not sealing or corrosion under the rear lights.

glad to report no leaks on either of mine.

I changed the complete sunroof out on the phase 1 last summer.
when i got the car, the roof was jammed, so swapped it over for the one i had in my older phase 1 which fully worked and took the chance then whilst it was out to clear out all the drain pipes etc.

Now i am thinking of taking it out again to put in the PH2 i have.
Ph1 leccy sunroof opens all the way back
Ph2 leccy sunroof is just a slide and tilt jobbie.
i prefer the ones that fully open up

what do you mean by 'opens fully up'? my phase 2 one slides totally back out of the way. Well, theres still a very small bit visible, but only small. How does the phase 1 roof open more?

does the phase 1 roof not tilt?

my PH2 roof only tilts up, does not slide all the way back where as my Ph1 does both the tilt and slides all the way back

damn gonna have to go and check the ph2 roof now lol

Hmmmmm, it looks like it will slide all the way back, the back of the sunroof goes down as if to slide back but it appears that the rubber on the glass is catching the metal roof as it trys to go down and just stops.
I'll play with it tomorrow dinnertime.

my pipes are connected up but on the dialogies it shows that sealant is meant to be applied to the sunroof to stop it flooding when its parked on a slope. So I need to drop my headlining again to seal it up.

Ph1's tilt and slide as well Neal except really early ones which only tilt

My phase 1 is a H Plate with full slide and tilt leccy sunroof.

Got the Ph2's sunroof working today as well althou it could do with some adjustment, the rubber on the glass gets caught on the roof so it only slides back if u give it a push down on the glass as u operate the switch.

they all eventually do that. Its the seal swelling due to corrosion

that bugger is the Aux water pump, meant to be on for about 8 mins or so when you switch off the engine to keep water pumping round the system to aid cooling.

so with it connected, every time u turn the ignition on then off it will fire up

the trip comp screen still only illuminates orange when the ignition is on untill the headlights are turned on , and darkness

Darkens or darkness?

The comp screen and digiclock do dim with lights on, they are illuminated brighter with lights off to aid seeing them in bright sunlight.

Check the rheostat (dash lights dimmer switch usually housed in lower steering column shroud on the left hand side) if it goes to complete blackness

still nothing else on the display itself ? have u checked the multiconnector plug on the back of the speedo pod is plugged in

helpful hint:

If u have large hands, may be an idea to disconnect the speedo cable from the gearbox before removing the instrument panel as its a bit of a squeeze to get ur hand behind it to disconnect it from the back of the panel.

The 3 times i've removed the instrument panel i've just been able to get my hand behind it to remove the cable. putting the bugger back on is worse with it still connected to the gearbox.
