It's all sorted! Hot air a plenty!

I managed to disconnect the speedo cable some how but managed to get that working again.

Now my speedo cable has broken at the speedo end. Was driving then heard banging from thedash and then my speedo stoped working. Looked behind the ins. panel to find the cable is fukkered!

Now as mine has no trip comp will the cable from GSF be fine as a replacement?

about 80 quid.

scrappy is best bet, any ph2 petrol 19, or efi clio will fit.

so its a td? I thought the usual 16v, sorry

Well the normal cable should be fine as it doesn't have injectoin or a trip comp!

So the GSF one will be fine.

That's good then mine has no trip comp so I'll give the GSF one a whirl then.

As you can see it looks like it exploded Shocked
I'll save the fun of removing it from the gearbox end 'till tomorrow Smile
Any tips for getting it out?

thats how thgey usually go.

hopefully the box end will just come out, if it doesn't then theres no tips really, need to see what shifts and what doesn't!

GSF one should do as the TD doesn't rely on any input from it.

you probably did not place it correctly behind the matrix ass.
hence it exploded ,speedo cables dont like too many bends Wink

Yeah, I thought that was why. It's a real git to get it routed, keeps getting squashed when I put the dash back.
