Hi all...
I'm thinking of getting an induction kit for my 1.9 turbo diesel (19) and I have a couple of questions for you all as I know sweet FA about this stuff.
1. Can I actually fit an induction kit ti a diesel?
2. If YES, can I get a universal one from Halfords?
3. Does it just fit on the old pipe?
4. What about the pipe at the bottom of the original housing? Does that blow the cold air at the new filter or do I need to get cold air to it another way?
I know I must sound a bit dense but I do Computers not engines, and would just like a bit of grunty sound from my sporty...ish diesel
Cheers Guys.

If it's sound you're after then might I suggest a cheap exhaust backbox? |

Cheap universal filter will fit, just take the existing air box off and it in place, the pipe at the bottom of the housing won't do much of a job at delivering cold air, so another feed would be a good idea. |

easy enough to put the filter on the end of the pipe, only thing you gotta get a bit creative with is finding a way of supporting the thing. My cone filter wasn't supported ( ) so it fell down beside the engine block.

it fell because you never had it on tight enough. Mine is unsupported but I do have a metal ring in the pipe to give the kit something solid to tighten onto. |

the TD piping to the air box is pretty 'floppy' so to speak though, where as the 16v hosing is more plasticy and more solid and doesnt droop under the weight. |

I'll have a hunt round for a metal tubethat's a tight fit and maybe pop that in the tubing and fit the filter to it. |

I think I've found a metal cyliner to put in the "floppy" pipe......A modified Ambrosia Devon Custard tin can (empty of course). Should sturdy it up a bit |

Have changed my mind and gone for a 1.9td specific (but more expensive, £80) Green Induction Kit from Demon-Tweaks.
Looks meaner that a silver one I think
