Hi.
Can someone tell me the Bhp of the 1.4 Clio engine used in the Mk1's over the different phases?.
I've heard lots of different things about Renault lowering the Bhp over the phases and the PAS models having only 75Bhp on the Phase 1's and non PAS having 80Bhp?
Is this true?
Sorry for the lame topic but I'm interested to know |

Yeah Haynes says that the E type for the 1.4 is 80Bhp, but it covers all 3 Phases so I don't know how accurate that is. Also afaik the C type wasn't used in the Clios. That's the 1.4 used in the R5's etc. |

E lumps came in 80 and 75bhp, the 75bhp one having a cat.
The only C type lump used in the clio was the 1.1 |

Ah rite, so mine had a Cat, but now de-catted and has PAS, so with the cat on it was only 75Bhp and is now, in theory 80Bhp? |

What I think JB meant was, not every engine that comes out the factory rated at 75bhp will actually produce 75bhp and as they age, obviously the power output may drop. |

Yeah i know that, but I'm trying to find out the 'book' Bhp for the engines as I seemed to get mixed figures for the engines and want the opinion of people in the know |

Well I thought it was 80, so perhaps down 2Bhp
End of the day only real way to find out is to stick it on a RR, but not worth it, probably only be around 83Bhp with all my 'mods' lol |

Is it so hard to ask a simple question and get a simple answer without being ridiculed on here? |
