I see some crazy stuff in maintenance bulletins at work, usually of chinese or russian airlines. ill put a good one up tomorrow Shocked

some spanner airframe fitter put the wrong bolts in to hold the front cockpit winscreen in and it blew out in flight, sucking the pilot out the hole. Amazingly, the rest of crew hung onto his feet and landed the plane with him dangling down the side of the plane, and he survived.

BA flight at 17,500 feet, front windscreen shattered (After being replaced previous day), Captain got sucked half out of window, and was pinned to the top of the plane by 350 mph winds and -17 air temperature.

His feet were caught under steering lever and forced the plane into a dive took all the staff to keep pilot from being completely sucked out the plane, as if he did, his body could have hit the wing or got sucked into the engine!

Ah....That documentry was on discovery a few weeks ago. Shocking that such a simple mistake could cause that!

Qantas i think still has the best safety record of any carrier, so you should be ok Wink

what would cause the blades to bend like that?

surely not just the speed that air travels past it?!?

or particules in the air?

How do you mean 'bend'? If you mean the twist of the blades along their length, theyre ment to be like that.

its not the bends that are the problem rog, Its more the enormous chunks missing!
