Yesterday Roddy and I embarked on a wee day trip. He had arranged to go get a rear axle from a guy (Tony) who was breaking a ph3 21 turbo.
We got there after a 3 hour drive or so and then had a MAccie D's, scaring the locals with our accents was amusing but we decided we better go get on with it.
So meet tony and go round to the lock up where he has the car, its written off you see. I saw it and started askign questions, basically is it was running then screw roddy and I would have gone home in my own 21, but it wasn't running.
We then dragged it out and I set about getting the rear axle off the mofo, heres pics roddy took
the engines the liners btw are in the boot!
the bonnet with a ph1 19 16V vent in it, looks good so roddy bought it!
me sorting out the rear shockers by burning the rubber, the shockers slide over a pin and they don't like to come off!
axle off at last!
We also removed the rear passenger door and took that as its in good condition.
Heres tonys car, ph1 21 turbo
the gay bad boy which roddy likes but, me tony, tony's mrs etc don't like it, ewe have taste roddy doesnt
Anyway after we had a cuppa we then set off.
We header for Somme Barrack in Catterick as thats where 1 Andrew Docherty resides. Roddy was in the army in catterick so he knows his way about the place.
We had no way of getting in touch with doc as amber phoned I asked on here to get his number and roger didn't know it.
So we thought, its not that big we shall search the entire place and we did.
Eventually as we were nearly out of petrol we spied the white beast hatch.
I then went up rang the bell, then rang it a load of times, then roddy shouts and andrews in the house next door waving from the kitchern window! lol
i don't think his neighbour was in.
So we had a chat, I got alans centre caps and a head off doc and so on.
We then went got some food and headed home.
i got in after 12 then roddy had to finfd his way home, thats where his adventure would start I imagine as he didn't have a clue where he was! |

No one lives in that house mate, they were posted over a month ago.
It was nice to see you guys, always good to put faces to names, plus you saved me having to lug that head up to yours by hand.
what time did you set off from Glasgow mate? |

aye, tbh if the stupid rear shockers hadn't of stuck on then it would have taken 10 mins instead of about an hour. |

one thing i find dodgy about this whole post is the so called r21 bonnet ,in the 6th picture it has got a renault badge and a rather ph1 16v look while on the 8th picture it does not look like the same bonnet ?????? how are you going to explain this

what does Roddy need another rear beam for anyway?
Also, that bonnet with the phase 1 vent looks nicely done. Looks quite smart I reckon. |

I found my way out of the maze ok Chris
It was a good day out, the weather was on our side which was great, it was a shame to see the 21t in that nick cause it looked not to bad at all, when Chris 1st seen it i knew what he was thinking
The bonnet with the vent is rather cool, and it helps with the vent being in the right position,
i also got some rear calipers aswell, along with some rear brake pads to last a lifetime
i liked the bad bay nose cone on Tony, or is that Luke's 21t although i was'nt that keen on the extension bit he put on it
It was wierd doing the tour of Catterick, i was getting flashback's although there was one "pads estate" that we though we'd better not stop in .... the bronx comes to mind also meeting Doc, cheers for the cuppa mate
Right, gotta go and unload the car |
