I thought this was an "urban myth"? Does the pump not take the petrol from the bottom of the tank anyway? Anyone know what size spanner is needed to remove the filter as the car is half a mile away and I'm walking up and down to it |

the fuel is taken from the bottom of the tank.
Anyway you will need to prime the TB again, turn the ignition on and off when you hear the fuel pump relay click off to get the fuel up to the TB, then it shoudl fire up.
Tow startign etc is just another way to fuck things quicker, it shoudl start if not then theres a problem, tow starting might solve it by destroyign whatever the problem is! |

Petrol isn't the problem, took the pipe of the end of the injector rail and there is loads of petrol there. Gonna take the plugs out and make sure its in the cylenders.
Engine keeps turning and turning but no kick outta it, any suggestions? |

i ran out of petrol the other week. Was on my way to work when I noticed i needed petrol. I thought I'd chance it as I'd be late for work if I stopped to fill up. Came to a stop at a roundabout at the top of a hill near work. Pushed the car round the roundabout and over to the other side of the hill, then rolled all the way down the bottom, carried the speed round another roundabout and coasted slowly up to the pump at a petrol station, was quite lucky, but still fecking embarrassing. And I was of course even later for work than I would have been had I just stopped to fill up. Probably would have had enough petrol anyway if I hadn't been ragging it |

I have only actually ran out of petrol once in my blue energy on the motorway, managed about a mile of rolling cos I was speeding! lol
The old saab and the 16vs I have to say, they will start and run fine, but won't rev by 4 grand or pull the car if out of petrol. Never had one just die and not start |

I'm not sure if it even ran out of petrol now. light was on for 30 miles... usually get 50 when it comes on. Plugs out now gave them a good clean and left them out so the petrol could evaporate from the cylinders, judging from the smell theres plenty of petrol in them. |

plugs back in no difference. tested all the leads to make sure they were sparking, 2 didn't seem to be. it would run on 2 cylinders tho wouldn't it? or not if they are constantly missing. |

yup, coil pack not a disp, battery is run flat now. I'll try later (when i get a jump of somebody) and swap the leads around to make sure its not them. I'm beginning to think it was nothing to do with petrol. Do coil packs just give up often? |
