He knows what hes doing, and has most of what he needs anyway.
Where as you are someone who doesnt like driving your car in the rain. |

so far to pass an mot it will need 4 patches.
2 on the sill and 2 on the drivers b pillar and under the rear window.
tbh the sill would pass an mot as its not rotten behind and they can;t take the skirt off to check, so that would pass.
The B pillar and under the rear window I could fibreglass it and it would pass.
Need to take the ABS bulb out though.
Its not a matter of its a pear, it is to an extent but theres reasons for that, like the 16V's are not sealed there like the 1.4's etc are!
If people just gave up then there would be no e-types etc either.
I can bodge it through an mot in no time but I would rather sort it properly. |

no point in me mot'ing it for the mot to just run out is there!
Although I am not 100% on what to do.
If I am the 2nd owner then thats as new a 19 as you can get really!
So I could go down the concours standard route which would be nice.
or I could bodge it and sell it one which I don't want to do.
Dunno what to do I'm contemplating it all. |

last 19 16V I saw at auction went for £10.
They are not worth anything to anyone at the moment.
I woudl rather do it properly then sell in a couple of years when they are really rare, get more for it then. |

well in my opinion a welded car is a 2nd rate car true classic owners want concourse low mileage models rare dont mean classic.a ren 19 is in the same mould as a morris marina a working mans classic.not a db5 etc.but fair game to chris to restore but theirs correct way to restore and cheap ways. |

why do you think I am goign to do it cheap?
I had considered gettign a new B pillar and rear 1/4. But its to expensive.
Also db5's etc all have patches on them. I would hazard a guess I would hazard a guess I know more abotu restorations than you do as well.
Also I have no idea why you made the stupid comment that a welded car is a 2nd rate car, all cars are welded from the factory, if they are wleded later on in life they are normally considerably stronger. |
