Jokes aside, you like a challange don't ya? As if rescuing a valver from a scrapyard wasn't enough you get one thats been hacked to bits! And you get it running!
How much was this one, £5?
Whats the plan, to repair or break for parts? How many miles etc?

read it.
Puppy should come on and he can tell you what state the thing was in, he would be mighty impressed with it now.
This is actually the 1st phase 2 I have owned. |

You've edited the second post since I last looke to include pics, looks good.
Whats the reason for that some R19's have Veglia dials and some have Sagem ones?
That headunit brings back memories, nice little 3.5mm input for my Minidisc player, ah they were the days. |

Hmm, is that the origional stereo? I thought the m/n plate 19's came with the blaupunkt stereo's. Seen a few K/L platers with the phillips ones in though |

ther dial thing, they used whichever was handy at the time!
All 19's I have seen used the phillips radio.
The remopte for it doesn't work though.
Get this, my sister was checkign for insurance on it out of curiousity, its 65 quid cheaper to insure the exec than any of the ph1's! Mention the ren cat 2 immob and its another £0 - 10 off it. |

no execs got them.
Only the ph1's all had them and some of the poh2's. No exec came with them though.
So far today,
pass seat fitted
fusebox screws fitted
radiator brackets fitted
oil pressure gauge working
TB cleaned and idle now sorted (950 instea dof 1300rpm)
I still have to get the starter bracket bolted up as its jangling against the block when running, thing is it doesn't look like it will fit with the starter thats there which is why it was loose as its a recon (black peeling dodgy paint) starter from the looks of it. |

I have not seen an exec with a trip in it. Maybe it was an option, they stopped doing them cos they kept going blotchy etc. |

Some of the execs do, but most don't. Think they probably ran out towards the end. I think a lot of people put them in themselves though afterwards.
JB's Chammy isn't an exec but it doesn't have a trip.
I've often found in the past (and forgive me if I'm about to talk bollocks) that if an Exec has yellow fogs it won't have a trip computer - however since so many people have swapped yellow for clear fogs its probably impossible to tell these days. Wern't the 19's with Yellow fogs from a different factory to the 19's with white? (PH2s that is) - something to do with French laws at the time? |

I think between Chris and I, we've seen enough 19 execs to tell you that its rare to find one with a trip Its also rare to find a none-16v with a trip, but there are some out there. |

only non 16V I have seen with a trip was a G plate 1.7 carbed effort.
In the manual theres 1.4's with them etc. Yet to see one. |

There was a TD 'executive' on eBay a while ago with leather and a trip - although if it was just the exectutive door cards / leather / dials nicked from a valver we'll never know.
We need to formulate a load of questions and send them to Renault. Like, did they ever manufactured a RHD swoopy dash! |
