Only had one run in with a 172, off a roundabout and up a slip road. On his ass all the way so im guessing the driver was a numpty or more than likely he wasnt trying and was just teasing me. |

The clio has alot of torque low down, and is very quick, handles well, and has springs all round lol
The 19 is more spacious, less driving aids, more comfortable, I think if i'd never had a 19 as my 1st car, i'd prefer the clio the clio has deffo got the enjoyment factor to it, and handles alot better.
I prefer the 19 as it was my 1st car and im more emotionally attached to it.
But in a race, as mine is a ph1 it will be the same, the clio 182 isnt as quick as my 172, my 172 pulls well to the limiter in 5th, as did my 19. the clio will do 155 on the clocks, on the limiter. |

well neal and JB, and Ben have been in my 172, and the 19's had the revs on me, but i had low down torque. Out of the corners the 19's can put the power down whereas the clios just try and tramp or spin. |

The 172 has the advantage of larger cc. Think the 19 should have been made with a small turbo like the 5gtt.
It suffers greatly from lack of low down torque. I drive mine in second everywhere just to keep at that 4k mark to have the power to boot straight away if any one tries it.
Personally I think 19 16vs are absolutely shite off the lights due to this problem?
Clios not so much cos of the weight |

The clios can be good off the lights in the dry, but in the 172's you have to really wait until 2nd until booting it as it just wheelspins, even with progressive throttle it will still try and spin, the slightest bump whilst accelarating hard will upset the car. |

I've never driven the clio's before. Apart from an 02 plate 1.5 dci that i had for a courtesy car and thought would be crap, but turned out to be a pleasant suprise when that turbo spooled up!
Ended up spinning out the dealers lol |
