i'll have a look thru my box, i think i have three left, they are all mapped slightly different to each other.

also i need to know if the ECU they are going into has the immob built into it or not

the chip wont work on this revision of the ECU, so you will need to pull the ECU out and check the numbers on the front of it

on the left hand side of the ECU, there should be a barcode, above the barcode is a number, at the end of the number is a letter, if that letter is 'C' then it wont work

you do realise there are 2 locks for the alarm yea?

1 under the centre consol and the other in the plastic above the battery. the one above the battery controls the siren and the one under the centre consol arms and disarms the alarm.

Come to think of it it doesn't use the horn as part of the alarm. Mine has a battery backup siren as standard.

yes one's for the imbo and the one under the bonnet is for the alarm, could i just use a different ECU?
or would i need a diff plip aswell?
is there a ABS a non ABS ECU?
and if so is would it be a phase 1 ABS ECU i could use

the imobaliser lock is in the glove box, the main alarm lock is under the centre consol (infront of your gear stick) and the siren control is in the engine bay above the battery.

it sounds like you've left the alarm armed but turned the siren off.

Also Neo, My ECU has a "D" on it. So it will work yea? Wink

you cant use one of the chips i have. but yes you can get it chipped, try mick penny on EBAY, you see him selling his chip from time to time on there.

If you do business with him, mention retro-renault as he is a member here and also say to him that Wicked Neo sent you his way.

it should do yes, are you capable of desoldering / soldering a 16 pin IC ?

yes it does, see page 1 of my progress report for a better idea of how it goes

i'll supply a socket with it too, so if the chip does fail for any reason, you dont have to go thru the process of unsoldering the chip again.
you just have the socket on the PCB, and then you can change chips with ease.
