Gonna have a go at sealing the leaks on the 16v when it stops raining. Its leaking mostly where the pipe comes out of the back of the stat housing and up to the tpeice. What the best stuff to use as sealant? I've been trying to use locktite's 'instant gasket' stuff, with limited sucess. Would somthing as simple as grease work?

Cheers

right which pipe?

If its the press fit pipe then blue hylomar, if its the metal pipe thats inserted into the hoses but nopt part of the stat housign then its holed get a new one.

Alos you will find when you remove the pipoes there will be 'fur' on the hose stubs, scrape this off to ensure a seal.

aye that, halfords sell it. Originally developed by rolls royce.

Blue hylomar holds cam carriers on and marriages together.

Really? Had a look round Halfords the others day, must have been looking in the wrong section. Just when you know where everything is, they move it!

any silicone sealant / gasket sealant will do the job...it doesnt have to be a specific brand.
