it can be as it was or it would be turning over.
How many times have you turned the engine over by hand?
Cos you couldn't get the lower pulley off so chances are it may have slipped down there. |

Woohoo!!!!! Car is up and running...at last!!!
Just one problem, it's running like a bag of spanners! could this be because:
a) The timings not quite right?
b) It's not been run at all for 2 weeks
c) All of the above or
d) Something else
PS. The reason it wouldn't start was down to stupidity and my neighbour distracting me while I worked...body to engine earth wasn't tight!!!! |

line the crank up at TDC, then check all the marks, if its all inline then no, otherwise detension the belt, and line it all up. |

I am slightly intrested in how you are planning to line it up at TDC. I suppose if you remove the timing pin plug at the box end you can do it, or even easier look in the hole on the box where the numbers are, when the flywheel slot lines up with the 0 thats it at TDC. |
