well seen as you mention about speed traps.....im 110% sure i was caught yesterday on Fabians way doing 60-70....in the 30 section. have you seen where it sits? just in St Thomas...looking out onto fabians way. i was going home, and sat at the lights on the tawe bridge (nearest sainsburys), and didnt even think about that i was entering a 30 zone...and 1/2 booted it. wasnt flat out or anything, and for anyone that doesnt know the area its a dual carriageway that has recently been dropped to 30mph. wasn t even racing....just going too fast. came to where it was sitting, didnt have time to touch the brakes...straight passed at 60-70.
I know its bad, but JB will tell you, the limit is 30mph but most cars are doing around 50....at least. so although my speed was excessive in comparison to the law, it wasnt in relation to the other cars. it sounds really bad when i say i was doing that speed in a 30 zone, but it is a dual carriageway, and i'd NEVER do that sort of speed in a "normal" 30 zone. Not that that will make a blind bit of difference in court. Just a stupid thing to do.
im expecting 5-6 points+couple hundred fine OR even a month or two ban....."you do the crime" and all that.... |

this bit of road sounds just like the dual carriageway '1/4 mile drag strip' by the Galleria here in Hatfield, that has a McDonalds and big car park right off the roundabout at the end, a favourite place for neds.
Its funny because if you happen to be standing down there for any length of time you see cars come in to mcdonalds (not to get anything, just go round the drive thru bypass bit), then back out onto the dual carriageway. 1 minute later and theyre ragging it back down the other way, into McDonalds again, repeat ad nauseam. |

yeah its a stupid bit fo road....nice wide dual carriage way, main drag out of swansea, and everyone usually crawls along at 30....im usually stuck behind someone....keepin it in second so that come the 50 zone i can boot it lol..........once im in the 50 i do minimum 60 cos its so long and wide and stupid to do 50...but it is notorious for money making...i mean speed cameras for our safety. |
