Good Point. Just nervous about doing this as I know nothing bout it. Shall see how it goes at the weekend.
If I just pop those pipes off, flush the matrix, put pipes back on, refill coolant and turn on engine, should that do it? |

not quite. you still need to bleed the system.
After putting it all back together, undo the bleed screw on the rad and refill the system. Start the engine. As it heats up the level in the header tank will drop. Squeeze all the hoses to persuade any airlocks out, particulalry the matrix hoses. Eventually water will start to dribble constantly out of the bleed screw. At this point screw it back in. That's it. |

Ok cheers for this Neal. Just one last question. The bleed screw is the one at the bottom left of the rad if looking from above and front of the car?
I appear to have one at the top right but I can't move that as it needs a special key or something. The botoom left one looks like a screwdriver jobby.
Cheers Again |

Dunno know exactly where it is on yours, but it will definately be at the TOP of the rad somewhere, for obvious reasons |

That's what I thought. Will have to find a way to open that one. It's a wierd hexagonal shape but only about 3 mm in diameter. My old rad was a flat head srewdriver bleed screw. |

if you hold the header tank up when you re-fill it the air from the heater finds it easier to surface to the tank.
The one on the bottom is a drain plug for the rad.
I actually have a tech article in limbo in mods chat which I ned to finnish. |
