Canvey Island behind Safeway, is the old Gas works, disused, kind of fenced off, but loads of lond straight roads, Used to take my mates old Motor cross bikes out there and bomb around, used to count off all the burnt out motors that were there, used to be 100's |

I loved the film 28 days later (not so much the story line) - love the whole post apocolyptic theme.
Try and get hold of a TV Drama called "The Last Train" - very spooky. |

I havent lived very far from morcambe for the past 18 years.
They used to launch helicopter trips from the Midland Hotel until it shut. It was also where they filmed an epsiode of Poirot!!
When i was a bit younger we used to go in the bar for a drink. From the outside it looked shabby but inside was amazing, it was like going back in time. It was a damn shame when it closed.
It got bought and was going to be made inot a casino/ hotel but it fell through. Now god knows whats going to happen.
Be a shame if it gets knocked over though

The guy im working with at the moment comes from Morcambe and his sister held her wedding reception in the Midland hotel only 4yrs ago, he reckons some guy has bought it now and is gonna do it up ....hope so. |

wow....i would get the creeps exploring an old asylum tho i think...esp down in them tunnels 
awesome to find an abandoned chapel like that...complete with organ!
big old boiler room..scarey in the dark i bet...assume person in background is meant/known to be there |

Had a look and saw Tarbat House which is just along the road from me on the same estate that my ex and kids live on. The details are out of date. It was bought by a family who have done up a small annex on the side of the house which they're living in. Not sure what the main plan is for the big house but I know they are planning on refurbing it. They have a wee girl who's friends with ma boy.
Another one I saw was Craig Dunain Hospital in Inverness which was closed a couple of years ago when they opened a new Mental hospital. It's a beautiful building with fantastic views over Inverness, it would be a shame if it goes to ruin. |
