Whilst doign the hoovering today my mind wandered as ones mind does, and the formula came to me.
CCV = CV/CR - 1
Where ccv is the combustion chamber volume, CR is the compresion ratio and CV is the cylinder volume.
for example,
1764/4=441CC
CR=10:1
CCV=441/10 - 1
=49CC
Thats stock.
So for a CR of 11:1 it would be 44.1cc.
Jimbo super unleaded pah, why bother gone into it before.
No 2 fuels are the same and a 95 ron fuel may be far superior economy wise, response wise and power wise than another fuel rated at 98RON.
Stan will no doubt know what I am on about. |

i have a different sum....
CR = (C-P+G+D+V) / (C-P+G+D)
CR = comp ratio
C = comb. cham. vol
P = pisotn dome volume [N/A]
G = gasket volume
D = Deck height [N/A]
V = Swept volume
all in cc's
wont put all the workings but i end up with 48.9cc ish (rounding) for the Comb. Cham. at 10:1.
note this is inc. the gasket vol as this is above the piston TDC
so we all agree YEY! |
