make sure the bolt holes don't have oil or sealant or anything in them.
also it can shift about, a dab of grease on the gasket will hold it still. |

yes it did cost me a tenner inc p&p ,now i can fit the rocker cover back on .
i used paint stripper to get the old crap paint on the cover and i have no intentions of spraying it . so it will look like this on top of the engine

Thats gonna corrode quickly, could just put a layer of laquer over it to stop that? |

i did not think it would corrode as it always gets hot on the cover
i might as well do a proper job and paint it if thats the case ,was thinking of silver myself ,or tungy might look good too .
by the way , there are still some little bits of crap/remains of old gasket left on the mating surfaces . and i did not want to use sanding paper or wire brush to agitate in case the shit drops into the engine . any tips on that ? |

bloody halfords is too expensive ,i used stanley knife to remove most of the bulky bits .
does it have to be perfectly smooth like its skimmed ? |

stanlel blade is th esame thing. I have the stanley blae version and a very wide scalpal scraPER THINGY.
No it doesn't need to be perfect, obviously any chunky bits have to go. |
