The road between Perth and Inverness is a nightmare, two lanes then one lane, then two then one, argh.
I added a full tank of diesel here (dunfermline) last night, 89.9 here as well.
Had to tax the clio last month (£120) and then the astra TD this month (£170). bloody extortion. Common sense says the diesel should be cheaper to tax than the petrol but no. |

Because the government is always banging on being greener. Diesel is a little easier on the enviroment than petrol. |

Yes, technically Dundee is north of Perth but doesn't really count if you only ever drive on the A9!
I like the long bit of dual carriageway on the A9 coz it gives me the only chance I ever get to REALLY open up the 19 for a little bit. The rest of the A9 is pants unless you get really lucky with the traffic and don't get stuck behind a lorry/tractor/caravan! And it's a treat to drive on proper roads when you live up here in the wilderness that is the Highlands!
Ok, modern diesels might be better than older ones (Focus C-Max 1.6DTCi emissions are lower than the petrol equivalent) but from what I was looking at on the DVLA website the other day, they've changed it again and it doesn't appear to make any difference wether the car is petrol or diesel if it was first registered before 2001 for road tax purposes.
Seems to me the government are overcomplicating matters enormously and I also think that it's the people that can't afford to buy a brand new car that are being hit the hardest coz it's us that are paying the most to tax our cars! For instance: my mother is paying £165 max for a less than one year old 4WD Honda C-RV and the same for a 2yr old Mini Cooper Works where I'm paying £170 for a 13yr old R19!
It makes me really angry! Sorry, rant over! |

they tax co2 emmisions which mean feck all they don;t take into account other particles.
Lindsey pop down and I'll exercise your 19 for you. Diesels like a good drive.
tax isn't fair, in fact nothing is fair. |
