not but i trusted the seller tht the engine was strong i dont mind anything else even if it was clutch probs but engine swops sod that i aint got the time 2 do it and id rather sell it rather thn it sit outside my house |
if you was having clutch problems, you still would have to have the engine and box out to replace it.
Take the advice given to you here and in your other thread.
check the items you have been told to check.
you could have this car sorted for about £100 (cambelt kit and CTS) and a little work. |
You can replace the clutch easily enough with the box in the car. |

yeah but you might as well just lift the engine out, can replace mounts, service brake lines, jetwash the bay etc while youre at it. |

okguys have been traveling by bus and pinching lifts for 3days and a engine has cropped up at a m8s
1.8 16v
95k out of a k plate hatch
the engine shall be going in as 1 unit so ill keep the old engine n box re-con the engine wen i get the off chances, send the head away for gas flowing, buy a back up xr2i just incase the 19 pops which i hope it wont.
rite does any1 know wether i shud do anything to it before wackin the lump in i.e cambelt and stuf as my m8 aint got no history with it so we aint to sure when the cambelt was changed?
is it worth using 10w60 oil init?
and which plugs best suit the F7P lump ive always used ngk but what do you guys recommend
cheers |
