Well’ the other day I went for a drive.
Monaco port 0 Meters
Tete de Chien 550 M
Col de Castillon 707 M
Sospel 349 M
OK this is the famous rally M C stage.
Rag it.
Moulinet 823 m ( cool it in the village ).
Rag it.
Col deTurini 1607 M
15 Kilometers down.
La Bollene Vesubie 690 M
Going down a bit to quick, nice Mercedes Coupe comming round the hairpin below
I think slowly does it ? he sees me OK But I’m pushing the brake, and it slowing the car, but if I push harder I get a funny smell coming in the window an now more brake. Managed to get by the Merc ( lucky he backed off )
And slowed down for the hairpin. If I had to stop in frount of the Merc ? no chance.
But thats a 900 M hard charging down hill in 15 Km. I must be mad.
I my younger days I bicycled over all this stuff.
Think Ben Nevis is 1330 M or something.
Need a road up it. |

right tbh if theres more than 5 or so of us we will have trouble at campsites, however we could camp up the mountain for a laugh, toughen us up a bit in gale fore wids with icicles from our nipples. |

it was august i wen tthere and it was still about zero on top...expect worse on nevis....i WILL get up nevis....i hope
god im so unfit...i seriously need to do some ...moving...
ive just decided...im goin up snowdon again...will go to the same campsite an all....drive up on a saturday, stay in tent, climb next day and drive home...
campsite is great..next to huge lake, no building anywhere..the owner just turns up now and again in a car to collect money....truly out in the sticks...there is a toilet tho.
also they sell u bags of wood and u have a little hearth to have a proper big campfire on.....brilliant.
last time it was raining. me and my mate, dragged the fire under a tree, sat with out rain coats on next to the fire, drinking wine and beer....
ace it was.... |

Thats what i'm talking about....thats beautiful mate. I would love to visit that place. You got a real nice place there...and it's good to see someone appreciating it...
here's pic's of the Brecon Beacons in Winter when I was up there once....I love the beacons, always go up every few months for a wander..only about 45mins drive from me...It's not huge mountains, but really good hillwalking....plenty of places to get away from all the general hiking public too, if u know where to go. |
