I took the rear mount off the 1.4 out the front and having jacked the valvers engine up to have a proper look I noticed that the bottom bolt had snapped again.
This time it has snapped part of the gearbox off with it as well. I put a new bolt in and thats holding it however there is only about 3/4 of an inch that holds the bolt to the box now. Can this be welded? Is it worth it or should I just invest in some more bolts. |

how are you managing to break it? either your not doing it up tight enough or your wheelspinning it everywhewre you go!
it could be welded up but the box woudl need to come out. |

I don't rag the car at all tbh, it keeps breaking things.
I've put a new bolt in twice now and both times it hasn't completely sorted the problem.
I still get a slight vibration through the steering column when accelerating.
which says to me that the mount is worn and may be putting more pressure on the bolts then normal?
what do you think? |

even when knackered the bolts shoudl do the job.
I drove about 500 miles on a knackered rear mount, it was rattling off the rack at idle etc. No bolt damage just a nearly chopped through PS pipe.
Do em tighter next time! |

They were tight!
However I'll give it another couple of turns to knip it up some more. |
