i do remember now ,
i do not have any of that steam coming off at all and my engine runs like a dream to be honest .
i believe i have managed to get the air out today as well and topped it up to the max level ,all i can do now is to wait and keep checing the water level
btw i do have a weird feeling that my bleed screw is a bit dodgy ,like not totaly sealing the hole . this may sound a bit silly but cant a dodgy bleed screw let water/steam out as well as keeping the pressure ????? |

right after topping the water up on saturday ,i have driven the thing 3 times fully heated up and ragged . the coolant level does not go down ,no signs of overheating or any smoke from the zorst .
did the head gasket sort itself out or is it hiding ???? |

Schaks, why don't you just change it just in case? Odds are that the gasket is on its last legs by now having proberbly never having been changed in the cars lifetime.
It's not the biggest of jobs and TBH once the head is off you should see where your problem is. |

dont think so mate
i can wait till the gasket fecks up properly(i have doubts that its gone) ,in the meantime i would be buying a spare head and reconditioning it ready to go on whenever that happens ,but disturbing a perfectly fine running engine is not my way tbh . |

the car has not been loosing any water since last week but after a quite long run yesterday ,i discovered about a half of a pint missing from the coolant tank , no panic
i found a feckin leak after squezing a few pipes , a small pipe underneath the dizzy cap connecting to a metal pipe was burst from the edge hence water pisses under pressure ,the jubilee clip could be moved by hand as well , the annoying bit was draining the system as the coolant in there was brand new ,oh well better than a head gasket change i believe
chopped the pipe from the split bit and stuck it back on after inspecting for splits etc . cant blame the pipe though ,i would give way after all that years of high heat and pressure |
