Yeah booze was mega expensive, it was like 13 Krone to the pound, cant remember how much Krone stuff costed exactly, but it worked out about Â£5 or more for a beer i think. Also off license type places called 'Monopoly' iirc were the only places to buy alcohol and they closed really early so you had to plan ahead if you wanted to drink before going out to avoid having to buy many drinks while you were out.

not the cheapest european country but reasonable as in,even a single person can work and afford to pay bills etc .

turkey is good in many ways but that depends on where you choose to live really , also burocracy might be an arse at most times if you decide to deal with things in burocratical ways (there are ways around it of course )

i can say its quite cheap in many ways especially food which concerns me more than anything else tbh as i am not a drinker myself either .
also you have access to decently grown vegetables unlike spanish stuff grown in chemical solutions rather than soil .

finding a job should not be a bummer either as they would not bother with your past due to being a foreigner etc.
the shitty bit for you would be getting a residency permit and i do not have a clue how that works . i used to work with seasonal reps from finland ,sweden ,norway etc in turkey and i remember the companies having big troubles getting work permits for them as well .

you can find a quiet place to live no problem .

being busy also depends on where you live ,you live in a village a few km s from the city ,you are peacefull as feck

but than some big cities might be quite noisy and full of people .

i see what you mean now ,

the country is a republic since 1924 and democracy is in force .
to be honest with you i believe turkey is one of the best places on earth to live ,i am not saying this just because i am a turkish citizen myself but the fact that the life is more social ,more affordable if you have a good job .

what i would suggest you if too interested in this ,is to get some cash together and explore for yourself . and also can help you meet some people over there ,mostly my friends that could see the real turkey rather than a fake tourist attraction if you know what i mean

moving back will happen at some point for me but my reasons for moving to uk got nothing to do with the chase for a better life really.
