if u havnt got the correct voltage, it indicates there is high resistance somewhere in the wiring to the injector... |

Cheers mate.
Rich has gone back to Lincoln so me (his brother) and his dad are taking over
any more info we get ill post on here as he's asked me to do so because were doing it for him while he goes back to uni this week.
Just a quick question, would swapping the inlet manifold from the old working block be any form of benefit as opposed to the one on the new block now that has been stood around. Could the fact that its been stood have knocked out the cold start injector and hence it not firing? |

most cold start injectors dont work!
swapping the manifold is no good if its an electrical fault....
did he use a different loom with the new engine?? |

It is idling as rough as a bears wotnot [ revs go up and down by about 200 rpm] and pinks like hell under any engine load |

well if its not excessivly high, there probably isnt an air leak. tho you could try spraying WD40 round the inlet area (esp round injectors, manifold to head area, and anywhere there may be leaks) and listen to see if the engine runs differently...ideally u want it on a gas analyser sou can see how it effects HC emmision, but hey...
you could try the TPS (throttle position sensor) off the old engine, or at least compare resistance values from the one its runnin gto the old one....just to check its ok. |

it is the TPS off the old engine, its the complete TB so its not that as i know its a golden rule not to disturb it! |

taken it to my friends garage and he says it seems to be an exhaust valve thats not seated properly or when the engine has been started for the first time as its been stood a while some carbon has dropped on the valve seat so the tappet has set itself to that and its operating at the wrong clearence so its head off time and swap it over for the spare one typical |
